Hello, dancers! I’m Emily Taylor!
Originally from St. Louis, MO, I have more than 20 years of dance experience with backgrounds in ballet, pointe, modern, contemporary, jazz, and tap. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre and Dance with an emphasis in Dance from Missouri State University where I was a recipient of the Dance Regents Scholarship. During my time at Missouri State, I performed with Missouri State’s Theatre and Dance department and with Springfield Dance Alliance.
I have choreographed works for Fall Dance Concert: Kaleidoscope as well as presented and performed choreography at the American College Dance Festival. I have performed new, original works by celebrated choreographer Darrell Grand Moultrie as well as internationally known choreographer Ruth Barnes, a former teacher at the Merce Cunningham Studio, and Sara Brummel. I was honored to be able to perform professionally with Full Radius Dance in Atlanta.
Along with dancing and choreographing, I am passionate about sharing my love of dance with young dancers. With almost 10 years of teaching experience, I have taught dancers as young as 18 months up to 18 years in various styles of dance and was the Competition Team Director for a performing arts conservatory. I am beyond excited to be at The Block and can’t wait to get to know the dancers and watch them flourish!
